LANDSCAPES:
Below is a selection of images taken on digital and analogue. These iamges are taken across the north of the UK. From Hebden Bridge, The Peak District and Blackpool. These images tell a story of people who walked the same steps, saw the same trees and the same paths and looked out the same views. The places hold a representation of home to me. This assortment of black and white images are single echos of that memory of the landscapes that we call home.
TROPICAL NOSTALGIA
This project is about growing up. I am lucky enough to have the most wonderful supportive family around let alone to have hot holidays. This projects aim to draw out this warm nostalgic feeling i get whenever im with family. Therefore i began looking back, on past family holidays and the joy they used to give. Creating this project was a way of distracting myself, reminding myself how the bad times and the good times pass. In these collages there is a collection of analogue and digital images. Some are taken on a polariod camera, some are ones taken from when i was much younger and some the present day. I wanted these images to feel familiar
The Entrapment Of Bodies is about doing everything to change your body. Shaping, morphing and pinning it down as if you’re a piece of meat. This project was an a performance into changing the way we think.
My Grandmas Gold
This project is dedicated to my grandma, who passed away last summer. As she grew weaker, I saw her as becoming stronger, and this work is a tribute to her. The work displayed explores the concept of temporality and the personal memories we carry of one another over time.
The photographs presented here was taken at my family’s favourite place to walk: over the fence, through the trees, and up to the hill with the tiny, tired house—this is where my grandma resides in my memory.
